The Tax Division's mission is to collect taxes, inform stakeholders, and regulate charitable gaming. The Appeals group within the Tax Division impartially reviews taxpayer appeals of assessments for all tax types administered by the Tax Division including charitable gaming.
As a Revenue Appeals Officer 1, you will learn about a wide variety of issues in the many tax types administered by the Department of Revenue.
The Appeals group offers flexible work schedules, including "alternative work week" schedules that allow employees to have a day off every other week. The Tax Division also offers a hybrid work schedule which allows employees to work from home certain days of the week. If you can see yourself in this role, please submit your application.
The position is the first level of appeal for a taxpayer. The position is assigned routine, less complex tax or penalty cases including excise taxes and some corporate income tax. The position also tests and maintains the Tax System for the appeals group; participates in training; and responds to taxpayer inquiries. You will work independently with a high degree of autonomy with limited supervision.
