New Hampshire/Maine Chapter Education
NH-ME NATP Spring 2024 Seminar
This event will host Amy E. Brosnan, EA, NTPI Fellow and offer the following education:
- Audit Proofing:
This class is a guide to Audit Proofing Schedules that are commonly audited by the IRS. While nothing can be 100% audit proof, it gives the attendees the understanding of what the IRS looks for when looking at a schedule for audit and what they expect when they audit the categories. This course will guide the attendees to help their clients understand what our expectations should be and how we can assist them in their businesses along with adding the benefits of peace of mind for both the client and preparer.
- Not Another Ethics Class!:
Good grief! How many times can attendees hear the same ethics classes over and over? We can all read Circular 230. This class examines parts of Circular 230 in depth with examples. This is an interactive class that attendees are encouraged to talk and even disagree with each other as we weave our way to complete not another boring ethics class.
- 1099-Ks and when 1099-NEC/MISC collide:
The 1099-Ks are here, maybe delayed and confusing, but they are here. This class will discuss the 1099-K rules and what we can expect going forward. This class will also bring attention to the fact that you can get a 1099-K and a 1099-NEC/MISC and what effects that can have on a tax return like double income or matching errors. Nothing can ever be simple or easy, but this class makes it a little easier to understand and prepare in case this happens in your office.
- General Business Credit: When to use it and what the heck is it?:
There are a lot of obscure credits and forms that we don't talk about enough. General business credit is one of them. It's there, but when can it be used and what is it actually for? This class will explore the credit using IRS Publications and Form Instructions and help figure out if our clients could benefit from this credit, how to use it and when.
