Each year, taxpayers’ actions or changes in tax law present tax professionals with ethical dilemmas. To remind tax professionals of their responsibilities, IRS publication Circular 230, Regulations Governing Practice before the Internal Revenue Service, was developed to provide the necessary standards and guidance to assist when challenging ethical situations arise. This course reinforces the tax professional’s ethical responsibilities by summarizing key points of Circular 230, identifying common tax preparer penalties and reviewing due diligence requirements when preparing Form 8867, Paid Preparer’s Due Diligence Checklist. Presented by Tim Graham Jr, EA (R and J Salina Tax Service Inc).
