I am seeking an EA or CPA who has experience in the nuts and bolts of making a Section 754 election for 2017. The majority partner (Mom) passed away and her interest is passing to her four adult children who are already existing partners. (Dad passed away some years ago). Anyway, I know that a S/754 can be made and I know it will be beneficial to the remaining partners (the children) to do so. I am seeking detailed assistance in the actual preparation of the election statement to be included with the 1065. By the way, this is not a pending 9/15 tax filing issue. We will file the S/754 election statement with an amended tax return requesting automatic relief under Treas. Reg. §301.9100-2. However, I do want to get these done as soon as practical. Please respond to Frank Cagnetti at Frankcag@gmail.com

Just curious if anyone has ever filed a late election electronically with a 2553 attached and not containg the “INCLUDES LATE ELECTION(S) FILED PURSUANT TO REV. PROC. 2013-30,” which should go on the front page of the 1120S form?

Is the exclusion applied at the entity level (partnership) or is it a true flow through on the k-1 and the exclusion is applied at the individual level?? I've read the FYI at least 3 times and do not see clear language 'exclusion is limited at the entity level'. Regards,

I have about 5 clients that went out to Colorado Connect to get their health insurnace and they have been unable to obtain the 1095A from Colorado. I also have about 2 clients, who did get the 1095A from Colorado. Does anyone know why this would be an issue?

I am wondering how other tax preparers are handeling the sales tax questions with their clients. Colorado wants you to report online purchases where no sales taxes were collected. Last year, I was blindsided by this and want to be prepared. Trying to decide if this warrants mention in my newsletter and worksheet

With tax season fast approaching, remember your Chapter discussion board can be a great resource for state and local tax issues as well as utilizing the state tax volunteers.

I am a new member to NATP and
a recently licensed EA. I have a client
who is liquidating a partnership which consists of three related parties. The partnership consists on one rental
property. One partner refinanced the
property and paid cash to the remaining two partners. I am looking for someone who could assist
with reviewing the basis calculations and preparation of the final partnership
return to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Anyone interested may contact me on my cell phone at (720) 327-3575. Thank you for your help regarding this
