Summary

When taxpayers are facing economic hardships, they often try to cope by leaving their tax debts unpaid, which results in clients facing IRS liens or levies. With 15 million taxpayers in the collection division’s inventory, and another 10 million non-filers before the COVID-19 pandemic began, the need for trained representatives to help taxpayers is exploding.

This workshop explains the mechanics of the IRS enforcement tools, when each is used and what practitioners can do to assist their clients to either avoid enforced collection or get relief when action is taken. We’ll also cover how to have tax levies released, discharging and subordinating tax liens, and explain nominee liens and transferee liability. Using a series of detailed case studies, we’ll provide examples to show you how to save your clients money, resolve their tax issues and make money doing it.
