- Schedule E - more than just partnership income
Read More
Schedule E (Form 1040) is used by U.S. taxpayers to report income or losses from rental real estate, royalties, partnerships, S corporations, estates, trusts, and more. It's a form attached to your main tax return (Form 1040) to help report these specific types of income. Some Common Deductions for rental properties include: Mortgage interest, Property taxes, Depreciation, Insurance, Repairs and maintenance, Utilities, and Management fees. Presented by Ruby Gurule, MBA, AFSP.
- Partnership Potpourri
Read More
Taxpayers who are partners in a partnership will receive a Schedule K-1 (Form 1065). The amount of loss and deductions taxpayers may claim on their individual tax returns may be less than the amount reported on the Schedule K-1 due to various limitations. It is the partner's responsibility to consider and apply those limitations, including basis, at-risk, and passive loss limitations. In addition, there may be fringe benefits provided by the partnership to the partner that need to be reported on the individual's return. Finally, we will look at certain deductions the partner may have that are not reported on the Schedule K-1. Presented by Jaye Tritz, EA, CFP®.

Arizona Credits on the AZ-140 (Webinar)
Arizona tax laws are often overlooked due to the state's low tax rates, but state credits can still provide significant value by reducing tax liability dollar for dollar, up to certain thresholds.
Some credits, such as the Property Tax Credit (PTC), Excise, and select business credits, are even refundable and reported directly on the AZ-140. However, most credits require a separate form and flow onto Form 301 – Nonrefundable Individual Tax Credits and Recapture for Forms 140, 140PY, 140NR, and 140X. Although Form 301 is primarily for individuals, it also encompasses many business tax credits and is used to report carryovers from prior years. After this webinar, tax professionals will be equipped to identify, claim, and explain the impact of Arizona tax credits on their clients' state tax liabilities.
This webinar will be presented by Ruby Gurule, AFSP and Katherine Gudgel, EA.

Pluses and Minuses on the Arizona Tax Return (On-Demand Webinar)
This on-demand webinar includes the presentation slides and a recording of the June 17, 2025 webinar broadcast.
The preparation of an Arizona Income Tax Return starts with the income as reported on the federal tax return. However, there are several adjustments that need to be made – both additions and subtractions – before the appropriate tax rate calculations can be applied. Some of the common ones include adjustments for depreciation and interest from municipal and U.S. government sources. We will be discussing both the common, and some of the not so common, additions and subtractions used to derive the Arizona taxable income. Objective: To correctly calculate the Arizona adjusted gross income.
Presented by Lin Leclair, EA. The video and materials will be available until Oct. 15, 2026.
