If you are attending the IRS Tax Forums in Las Vegas or Orlando this August, plan to come a day earlier to attend the first-ever NATP Experienced Tax Professional Workshop. This must-attend workshop focuses on your needs as an experienced tax professional. The full-day session will cover like-kind exchanges, estates and trusts, partnerships and S corporation stock basis, and even AMT.

Objectives

Upon completion of this seminar, you will be able to:

  • Plan for the steps necessary to complete a like-kind exchange effectively.
  • Determine if a trust tax return is required to be filed and by whom (trust or beneficiary).
  • Identify the different types of trusts and how to prepare the return.
  • Determine when to file an estate return and identify what is included in the estate.
  • Complete a comprehensive example of how to handle excess distributions or disallow losses from a partnership or S corporation.
  • Suggest ways to manage AMT and the proper application of the new AMT refund.
