Prerequisite: Basic income tax knowledge.

    This course will introduce the tax professional to how to determine a taxpayer's basis in capital assets, tangible personal property, business assets, a partner's basis in a partnership and a shareholder's basis in both a C and S corporation.

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this seminar, the tax professional will be able to:

    • Determine the basis in various types of assets.
    • Determine the amount to be depreciation, if applicable.
    • Identify and calculate the gains and losses to be reported upon the sale of such assets.
