    This workshop is designed to explain the reporting requirements and tax concepts underlying trusts that are not commonly encountered in a typical tax office, such as private annuity trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts.

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this seminar, the tax professional will be able to:

    • Determine when fiduciary income tax returns must be filed for private annuity, irrevocable life insurance, qualified personal residence,  charitable remainder, and charitable lead trusts.
    • Allocate trust income and deduction to grantors and/or beneficiaries.
    • Recognize the personal income, gift and estate tax consequences of these trusts.
    • Take advantage of income tax planning opportunities and avoid errors when filing returns.
