    Course Description: Take the extra step in getting ready for this year's filing season. This workshop will enhance your knowledge of tax preparation by examining timely topics that impact your clients and your business.

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this facilitated online course, you will be able to:

    • Determine what a passive activity is and how to handle its losses.
    • Complete Form 1045 and accompanying worksheet for a Net Operating Loss.
    • Determine tax implications and planning for issues affecting your clients in a recession.
    • Explain the tax treatment of settlement awards to your clients.
    • Analyze the tax effects of flipping homes and determine the best planning methods for your clients.
