Summary
The Earned Income Credit provides both an opportunity for taxpayers as well as compliance issues for tax preparers. This on-demand webinar will review the rules tax return preparers must follow, including ethical situations we may encounter. It will also examine various penalties that may be assessed against preparers as well as taxpayers for failure to comply with the rules.

Objectives
Upon completion of this on-demand webinar, you will be able to:

  • Discuss EIC due diligence issues for preparers
  • Accurately complete and calculate your client’s earned income credit
  • Evaluate potential issues as to dependency of children which effect EIC
  • Understand and analyze the accuracy of computer prepared calculations
  • Examine scenarios where tax professionals may conclude that EIC should be disallowed
